Canada is sending a team of 17 athletes to the Senior Worlds being held September 17 to the 23 in Baku Azerbaijan. From this talent, Ontario has 3 current representatives: Tonya Verbeek, Megan Schweitzer (nee Dolan), and Ohenewa Akuffo.

Ontario Athletes Help bring home Team Firsts at FILA Cadet Pan Ams
Sept 8 2007 posted
Congratulations to Sheldon Burton (58) of Sudbury and Mike Murry (Hwt) of Pickering both of whom won gold medals at the FILA Cadet Pan Am Championships held in Panama on August 20th 2007. Sheldon and Mike helped propel Team Canada to a first place boy’s team finish overall. On the girl’s side congratulations goes out to Jade Parsons of Orillia (49 KG) who won a silver medal for Team Canada. Jade narrowly missed out on gold in her final match but helped lead the girl’s team to a first place team finish.
All three of these Ontario wrestlers and their coaches are to be congratulated on a job well done this past summer.
