Final updates – 2024 Ontario Cadet Open, Ontario Junior Championships, Ontario U-23 Open

Hello Everyone:

We are looking forward to the 2024 Ontario Juvenile Championships, Ontario U-23 Open and the Ontario Cadet Open this coming weekend at the Markham Pan Am Centre.  Here are a few last minute items.

  • Reminder:  Age Groups
    • Cadet is athletes born 2008-2009
    • Juvenile is athletes born 2006-2007
    • U-23 is athletes born 2001 - 2005. Athletes 18 years of age (born 2006) may compete in U23 competition, however parental authorization and a medical certificate are required if the athlete has not reached the age of 18 at the time of competition.
  • Yes, the U-23 weights are the weight listed + 2 kg.  For red dots checks, the athlete must weigh the weight (including the 2 kg. allowance) plus the 1 kg. variance.
  • Registration Deadline Extended:  Some clubs asked, so we have extended the Registration window until tonight.  Please ensure you register your athletes (and Coaches), by Tuesday January 30, 2024 (11:59 pm).
  • NOTE:  WHEN YOU ACCESS THE REGISTRATION FORM FROM THE OAWA WEBSITE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO ASK FOR PERMISSION TO ACCESS THE FORM.  CLICK ON THE FORM LINK, DOWNLOAD THE FORM TO YOUR COMPUTER AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO YOUR ENTRIES, SAVE THE FORM ON YOUR COMPUTER AND SUBMIT IT TO:  wrestlingentries@gmail.com
  • Withdrawals:  Due to the Registration extension, we will extend withdrawals as well.  Withdrawals before Wednesday January 31, 2024 (11:59 pm) will not be charged. Scratches after that will be charged $20.00  Withdrawals also go to:  wrestlingentries@gmail.com
  • IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT SINGLETS:  ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST WRESTLE IN A RED OR BLUE (DEPENDING ON THEIR PLACE IN THE DRAW) SINGLET.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS MADE.  AKTION SPORT, AN OAWA SPONSOR CLOTHING/SINGLET SELLER WILL BE ON SITE.
  • Please remember that only accredited coaches will be allowed to coach in the corner.
  • Spectator Fee:  There will be a $5.00 fee for spectators.
