OAWA Revises Complaints and Discipline Policy

On March 22, 2026 and effective immediately, the OAWA Board of Directors has updated the OAWA Safe Sport Policy.   You can view the revised policy HERE

The revised Safe Sport Policy contains the OAWA Complaints and Discipline Policy.  View the revised Complaints and Discipline Policy HERE

The newly revised policies are available in the About Menu in the Policies Section.

Key under the new Policy are the following:

1. The Complaint process requires individuals filing a complaint to do so using a standardized complaint form.  View the new Complaint Form HERE

2.  The Complaint process will provide those responding to a complaint against them to do so by using a standardized Response Form.  View the Response Form HERE

These measures are intended to make the OAWA Complaint process simpler and more streamlined.

The revised Complaint Process is also intended to make it easier both for Complainant and Respondent to participate in a Complaint without feeling the need to obtain independent legal counsel.  This includes emphasizing that Complaints will for the most part be handed by OAWA Discipline Committees, not through outside legal counsel which can be complex and expensive for all parties.  This includes requiring that the party or parties requesting an Arbitrator from outside the OAWA to be responsible for the cost of this outside Arbitrator.
