Remembering Kekoo Gatta

Sadly, for the second time in less than a week, the Niagara Wrestling Community is struggling with tragedy. Kekoo Gatta died suddenly on Tuesday September 2nd.

Kekoo Gatta was well known to the Ontario Wrestling Community. A former high school Wrestler at Thorold High School and University Wrestler at Brock University, Kekoo went on to Coach with the Junior Badgers Wrestling Club and volunteered at many wrestling events including the 2022 Canada Summer Games. He was a key member of the group that hosted the 2015 Canada East Youth Festival in Niagara Falls.

As the Wrestling family struggles with this sudden and tragic loss, our hearts go out to the family of Kekoo Gatta: Wife Farah, children Cyrus, Syrina, Farrantina, Freddy, and Zubin. The entire family has been active in the sport competing, coaching, and volunteering at events.

The wrestling community will remember Kekoo Gatta as welcoming and friendly, always with a smile for everyone he met. He will be sorely missed.

The Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association thanks Kekoo Gatta for his contribution to the sport of Wrestling. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, the Wrestling family in the Niagara area, and all those who knew and loved him. We will all miss him.

The Funeral will be private for family, but will be viewable online. Full Arrangements are available at: https://www.morseandson.com/memorials/kekoo-gatta/5483725/index.php
