Additional Consideration – U17 Pan Am Team Selection (New for 2026)
As the Jurassic Classic Tournament event will now include a U17 tournament that serves as a 2026 WCL U17 Pan American Championships Team Selection Event, the above criteria will remain unchanged.
However, if athlete interest exceeds available roster spots, priority may be given to athletes who:
- Are age-eligible for the 2026 WCL U17 Pan American Championships, and
- Intend to pursue selection to the WCL U17 Pan Am Team, and
- Demonstrate competitive readiness through recent results.
This ensures Ontario’s U17 athletes have the best possible opportunity to compete for national team selection.
The anticipated cost for this trip is $1600, based on current airfare prices.
Important Announcement: More details about the team selection process, deposit deadlines, and final payment requirements will be shared with those who have completed the forms. Acting promptly will be essential to secure a spot on the team. We aim to have the team selected and flights booked by December 9th to ensure everything is organized in advance. If you believe you have athletes who have performed well provincially or nationally and would benefit from this opportunity, please contact highperformance@oawa.ca with a list of potential candidates.
Thank you,
