U17/U20 Women's Norway Trip

The Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association (OAWA) is excited to announce plans for an upcoming trip to Oslo, Norway as part of our Women’s Development Program. This initiative will give our top female athletes the chance to compete internationally and take part in a high-level training camp alongside some of the world's top wrestling teams.

While details are still being finalized, this promises to be an outstanding opportunity for our female athletes. We’re reaching out to athletes, coaches, and parents to gauge interest and ensure we can move quickly to secure the best arrangements.

Selection and Applications:
We aim to send a select team of young female athletes. Priority will be given to those who have demonstrated consistent training and whose participation aligns with their development goals. Final selections will be made by the Ontario High Performance Manager in consultation with each athlete’s personal coach. Coach approval is required before flights are booked.

We plan to bring a minimum of two coaches, with priority given to female coaches; however, all coaches are welcome to apply. We are also looking to include a mentorship/apprenticeship opportunity to help less experienced coaches gain knowledge and hands-on experience in their coaching pathways. If athlete participation is high, additional coaches will be added to ensure Safe Sport requirements are met.
