The OAWA is pleased to announce that the 2025 OAWA AGM will take place Saturday June 7, 2025 at:
Location: Holiday Inn Oakville Centre, 590 Argus Road Oakville, ON L6J 3J3
The Meeting will include a virtual option for those wishing to participate online
The OAWA will provide hotel accommodations for Club representatives plus a guest at no cost (includes parking) for Friday May 31, 2025 and/or Saturday June 1, 2025 as required.
There will be a group reservation at a nearby restaurant (dinner courtesy of OAWA) for those wanting to participate.

The Board of Directors of the OAWA is proposing the following:
MOTION:
“To amend OAWA By-Law 4.1 Director, Athletes’ Representative:
Director, Athletes’ Representative – The Director, Athletes’ Representative will be the Chair of the Athletes’ Council appointed pursuant to the Athletes’ Council Terms of Reference.
To instead Read:
The Director, Athletes’ Representative will be elected at the OAWA Annual General Meeting, serving a term of 2 years”
As per the by-Laws, to be elected to the Board of Directors, a member must meet the following eligibility criteria:
4.1. Eligibility – To be eligible to serve as a Director, an individual must: - Be eighteen (18) years of age or older;
- Not have been found under the Substitute Decisions Act, 1992 or under the Mental Health Act to be incapable of managing property;
- Have the power under law to contract;
- Have not been declared incapable by a court in Canada or in another country; and
- Not have the status of bankrupt.
2. Elections, OAWA Board of Directors
Please note that the following Board positions will be up for election at the AGM:
- President,
- Vice-President, Technical
- Vice-President, Diversity and Inclusion
- Director, Communications, Marketing and Promotion
- Athletes’ Representative – assumes the motion above is approved.
